I’m currently in Israel studying Biblical Archeology. A few days ago a few of my classmates and I woke up at 3am so we could climb to the top of Masada before the sun rose.  Masada is the mountain top fortress where a group of Jews held out for months against the Roman army. When all was lost and they couldn’t hold out any longer, each man killed his family and then the men sacrificed each other with the final man killing himself. They considered it more honorable to kill their family and themselves rather than let them become slaves to the brutal Romans.  I was exhausted by the time we reached the summit, but as the sun rose on a new day and I could see the vast expanse around me, the exhaustion disappeared and I was struck by two competing emotions. The first was the joy of God’s amazing creation and the second was the sadness as I reflected on what happened here so many years ago.

Farmer Wants A Wife has been an amazing experience. I have traveled with performing groups but this was my first time actually living away from home, so it was a huge shift going from no roommates to ten! We all came from very different backgrounds which helped me learn more about how unique everyone is.

I learned alot about not judging people too quickly! I also learned a lot about myself. For example, I used to think that I was patient but when it was four in the morning, we had 10 minutes to get ready and a girl would jump into the shower ahead of me, I realized just how short my fuse can get.
